1st Year Painting

As part of my teacher placement, I had a group of 1st year students. The project lined out for them was to create a final painting with the subject matter of recycled materials.

Throughout this artistic process, our students harnessed a range of skills and techniques. They utilised photography to capture the textures and forms of the recycled materials, providing a rich visual reference for their creative expressions.

Thumbnail sketches played a crucial role in their preliminary stages, allowing them to experiment with different compositions. In-depth artist research provided them with inspiration and contextual knowledge, offering insights into how other artists have explored similar themes.

Additionally, design plans were carefully crafted to ensure that their vision was executed with precision. These steps  were fundamental in allowing the students to seamlessly merge creativity and sustainability in their final creations. The result is a collection of artwork that not only demonstrates artistic excellence but also an acute awareness of the importance of sustainability.
